Made Out of Babies was a sludge metal group from Brooklyn, New York. The band formed in 2004 and split up in 2012. Their sound mixed influences from noise rock acts like The Jesus Lizard with post-metal bands such as Isis. They gained a following after putting out their first album, *Trophy*. Their first two albums came out on Neurot Recordings, the label home of Isis, Neurosis, and Red Sparowes. The band moved to The End Records for their 2008 album *The Ruiner*. On March 13, 2012, vocalist Julie Christmas announced on Facebook that the group had broken up. Later that year, on September 18, a new band called Bad Powers—made up of guitarist Brendan Tobin, bassist Eric Cooper, drummer Matthew Egan, and new singer Megan Tweed—released their debut album on The End Records. The band’s members included Matthew Egan on drums, Brendan "Bunny" Tobin on guitar, Julie Christmas on vocals, and Eric Cooper on bass. Their discography consists of three albums: *Trophy* (2005), *Coward* (2006), and *The Ruiner* (2008). They also released a split EP with Red Sparowes and Battle of Mice titled *Triad* (2007), and appeared on the Melvins tribute album *We Reach: The Music of the Melvins* (2005), the compilation *NYC Sucks, Volume 1* (2009), and *Monster CD No 13*.
